PUBLIC HEALTH PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE PROGRAM
The Cumberland Valley Area Public Health Preparedness and Response Program (PHPRP) ensures the health and safety of the residents of and visitors to the Cumberland Valley area located in Southeastern Kentucky, in the event of a biological attack, large scale disease outbreak, or any disaster related event. This is accomplished by: 1) continual preparedness planning and assessment of response capabilities, 2) an increase in epidemiologic capacity and surveillance activities, 3) the enhancement of communication abilities with in the county, 4) the ability to disseminate health information during a crisis, and 5) the provision of educational, training, and exercise opportunities to key players and the general public.
